Discover the world of coding with our Kids Block-Based Coding classes! This course teaches the fundamentals of programming through fun, interactive activities. Kids will learn how to create games, animations, and more using block-based coding languages.
To be shared during or after registration.
Learners can join any week. No catching up on previous material is required.

Week 1: Getting Started
Introduction to block-based coding
Navigating the platform
Basic programming concepts such as sequencing, loops, and events
Week 2-4: Animated Storytelling with Scratch Jr.
Creating a simple story with Scratch Jr.
Adding characters, backgrounds, and sounds
Using Scratch Jr. programming blocks to animate characters and objects
Week 5-7: Game Design with Game Lab
Creating a simple game with Game Lab
Adding graphics, sound effects, and scorekeeping
Using programming concepts such as conditionals and variables to create a more complex game
Week 8-9: Music and Sound Effects with EarSketch
Introduction to EarSketch and digital audio production
Creating custom sounds and beats
Adding music and sound effects to Scratch Jr. and Game Lab projects
Week 10-12: Final Project
Students work independently or in small groups to create a project of their choice using the skills and concepts learned throughout the course.
Students will have access to teacher support and feedback to help them complete their projects.
